I started my career as a photojournalist at a daily newspaper in New Jersey's capitol city (The Times, Trenton NJ) in 1987, and worked as a staff photographer for 14 years before moving to Colorado where I've worked as a freelance photographer ever since.

Photojournalism is at the heart of my work, it's what started my career and what influences it today, as I seek emotional stories in the photographs I make. It's what prompted the Roy Stryker documentary photo project and why I document life on the street in cities across the U.S. Because who we are is our story, and documenting and preserving that story for the current and future generations is the most important work I do.
