COLORADO ART PORTRAITS, a traveling photography studio by award-winning photographer

Kenneth Wajda, is redefining what it means to have your portrait made.

This is no ordinary portrait sitting!

Kenneth is not known for the typical portrait set in a stuffy studio against a painted background, the town park or a pull-down window shade background depicting a flowery window scene.

Oh, no!

Kenneth works on location and crafts the image to capture a personality and tell a story.

Because Kenneth is a storyteller first. A storyteller with a camera.

And he should know. He has had his work published throught the U.S. including newspapers and magazines (Seattle Times, Rocky Mountain News, Newark Star-Ledger, Los Angeles Times, Princeton Packet, Trenton Times, Royal Gorge Country, Mountain Gazette, Shutterbug Magazine, New Jersey Outdoors, Popular Photography) for the past 20 years and as he's quick to say, "the last thing the art director or photo director wants is a boring headshot."

Kenneth is an award-winning photojournalist, travel, nature, fine art photographer, author and teacher with over 20 years of professional experience.

It's no wonder his work has often been described as hip, different. "Magazine-style" portraits like those seen in Vanity Fair or Rolling Stone.

"I refuse to shoot a dull portrait. No matter what the situation, I have to find some way to add a touch of humanity to the image," Kenneth said. "To reveal the character that's posed in front of my lens. An emotional quality. "

Often, it's through the use of interesting locations, either the client's home or workplace or studio. (He photographs a lot of musicians and artists.) Sometimes it's through the use of dynamic lighting.

He also shoots in beautiful, natural locations which are so abundant in Colorado but uses them to capture the essence of the subject, not just as backgrounds of pretty scenery.

"I know of good outdoor portrait locations in Westcliffe, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Denver, Boulder, Aspen and Glenwood Springs but I'm always open to going to a new area that is meaningful to the client," Kenneth said. "I want to go somewhere that reveals who you are."

COLORADO ART PORTRAITS serves Denver, Boulder, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Fort Collins and the Western Slope, Aspen, Breckenridge, Vail, Glenwood Springs, with fine art portraits of artists, actors, models, children, pets, high school seniors, engagement couples "and anyone who wants a portrait that captures something a little more, a portrait that depicts who they really are."

Photo sessions have also taken the studio on the road to New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming and Kansas. Plus to the east coast to New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachussettes, Vermont and New York.

All sessions are two hours and include an unlimited number of photographs with a wide variety of poses and backgrounds. Kenneth reserves the right to add extra time to create the portrait he wants at no additional cost to you.

Proofs are made available online via a web gallery.

Kenneth is now also offering Leica Legacy Film Portrait Sessions, shot entirely on film with a Leica M rangefinder film camera, the camera of photography masters like Henri Cartier-Bresson and Annie Leibovitz, Alfred Eisenstadt and Robert Capa.
